Name: M. William Panek
Position in Now. Here. This.: Director
1) What is your spirit animal and why?
A big ol' brown bear. An ex used to call me "osito" so it kinda stuck.
2) What is your favorite section of a museum and why?
I love the grande foyer in the Museum of Science and Industry because I'm a huge World's Fair of 1893 nerd and it was the original Fine Arts building. The history, its size, its grandeur. It's a stunning and historic place to be.
3) What does the phrase "more life" mean to you?
More opportunity to learn, to do good, to love, and share creativity and shared experiences.
4) What is your most embarrassing middle school memory?
Woof. I remember making the coolest kid in the class cry during lunch period (did I tease him? did I punch him? Can't remember), but I was pulled out of the next class cause he tattled. Snitches get stitches.
5) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Paris, no question. Love the museums, the nightlife, history, sightseeing, and friends I've made there over the years. Plus its slower, chiller, relaxed pace helps chill out this occasionally high strung Yank.
