This one-night cabaret will feature appearances from The Brown Paper Box Co. artistic associates and former cast members performing as characters they would never play due to age, gender, voice type, race, etc. Get to know ANDREW LUND (Godspell, The Brown Paper Box Co.; Shakespeare's R & J, Idle Muse Theatre Co.; Storytown, iO Chicago; A Midsummer Night's Dream, Fury Theatre Co.). ------------------------------------ Q. What's the first word that comes to mind when you hear 'miscast?' A. Challenge Q. Have you ever been miscast? A. In college, I was cast as Jean in Miss Julie by August Stindberg, who is usually played by huge, physically intimidating men. I also got to play Mr. Biedermann in Max Frisch's The Firebugs. He's normally played by someone late 30's-50's, but that's the beauty of educational theatre. I would never have gotten the opportunity to stretch myself that much otherwise. Q. Without giving too much away, what can our audience expect with your number? A. I'm still picking between two songs. For one, there's an age difference of 30+ years. For the other, our day to day routines could not be more different. Q. Upon first glace when you walk into an audition, what is your character 'type?' A. Endearing/neurotic Q. But what people don't know about you is ....... A. All I want to do is play a villain. Or command an army. Q. Last good movie you saw? A. I just saw Pulp Fiction for the first time! Q. Current show running in town you're recommending to friends? A. I saw (re)discover theatre's As You Like It this past weekend, and cannot recommend it enough! It's the best production of the show I've personally seen. The clowning in the show is so much, the staging is wonderful, and they even have live music (including BPBCo's GODSPELL cast member Jake Mahler)! It only has one more weekend, so check it out! --------------- Come see Andrew in The Brown Paper Box Co.'s CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: A Miscast Cabaret on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret.
