Stephanie Rohr (Director) has worked with The Brown Paper Box Co. in a number of ways, having appeared in Godspell, Aloha, Say the Pretty Girls, and all BPB cabarets as a performer/coordinator. She most recently assistant directed A New Brain and is thrilled to make her directing debut with Spike Heels. Stephanie holds an MA in Classical Acting from Drama Centre London and a BFA in Musical Theatre from Drake University. Chicago acting credits: Macbeth, Reservoir Dogs, Predator: The Musical (Roundhouse Productions), Two Gentleman of Verona (Spectralia Thetare), Jesus Camp: The Musical (Cornservatory), No Sex Please, We're British (JPAC), Girl's Night: The Musical (Entertainment Events), and Bullshot Crummond (Bowen Park Theater). London credits: West End debut La Boheme (OperaUpClose), Project Medea (Roundhouse), Zipporah (George Wood Theatre), and All Together Now (Barbican Centre). When not acting/directing, Stephanie is a voice teacher and a cross-stitcher: stephXstitch.

Full name? Stephanie Lynn Rohr

Where you were born/where you were raised?
Born in Grosse Pointe, MI. Raised in Naperville, IL

Your position/role within the SPIKE HEELS family?
Director

What does that mean/what do you do?
To me directing means firstly assembling a group of very talented and passionate people. (Managers, Designers, Actors, etc). And secondly, collaborating with them and guiding them toward a shared vision of the show. It is a very fun and challenging mix of both giving creative input and letting my team run with it.

In 5 words, how do you describe SPIKE HEELS?
Class + Feminism + Honesty = Irreverent Comedy

How would you describe Theresa's writing?
I think Rebeck's writing is a gift to an actor and a director. It is fast-paced, honest, and changes on a dime. Just like real life conversation. It can go from light and sarcastic to deep and meaningful very suddenly. And it is just genuinely laugh-out-loud funny.

What's your favorite kind of shoe?
I love Fluevogs. Most comfortable heels I've ever worn.

Who would play you in the Lifetime movie of your life?
Hopefully a seasoned reality-TV star.

Special hidden talent? Cross Stitch!

Something you're REALLY bad at?
Touching my toes.

Favorite Chicago neighborhood? I love Lincoln Square and like to pretend I live there. (I actually live in North Center, which is pretty sweet too.)

Most played song on your iPod?
I'll have to time travel back to 2006 and ask my ipod. I don't have a specific favorite at the moment, but I have been listening to a lot of 1990s lady-rock lately.

Pop culture guilty pleasure? Judge Judy

Three things you can't live without?
Loved ones, theatre, and my Snuggie. (Great for keeping the wrists warm while cross-stitching.)

SPIKE HEELS runs January 23–February 8, 2015 at THE WEST STAGE AT THE RAVEN THEATRE COMPLEX. Thursdays–Saturdays @ 8 PM and Sundays @ 3:30 PM. Tickets are available at http://spikeheelschi.bpt.me.
