The Brown Paper Box Co. presents CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: A Miscast Cabaret on Saturday, March 23 at 8pm. This one-night cabaret will feature appearances from The Brown Paper Box Co. artistic associates and former cast members performing as characters they would never play due to age, gender, voice type, race, etc.
Get to know former cast member (BPBCo's Godspell) and Character Breakdown's musical director, T.J. ANDERSON (Romeo vs. Juliet, Pretty Windy Theatre Company; Paradise Lost, The Agency Theater Collective).
Q) What's the first word that comes to mind when you hear 'miscast?'
Q) Have you ever been miscast?
A) I recently did a scene where I played Cleopatra.
Q) Without giving too much away, what can our audience expect with your number?
A) I barely know what to expect myself, but I'm guessing something along the lines of "so sweet it'll hurt your teeth."
Q) Upon first glace when you walk into an audition, what is your character 'type?'
A) I have no idea! I'm usually cast as someone funny and quirky, or a devoted sidekick.
Q) But what people don't know about you is .......
A) I can be commanding and assertive when I want to be.
Q) Last good movie you saw.
A) A lifetime movie called Walking the Halls. It's a modern masterpiece.
Q) Current show running in town you're recommending to friends?
A) I'm very excited to see Eclectic's production of Six Degrees of Separation.
