Director Proposal: PLAYS
Are you a Chicago-area director with a passion project you've been dying to work on? Is there a musical you'd love to bring to Chicago's storefront theatre community? Please read through our website, especially our company page, to see whether you'd be a good fit with our team.
Proposals will be accepted from X to X
What kind of show are you looking for?
In general, we are looking for a straight play with a small cast, with simple technical needs that features characters in their 20s and 30s.
What size band can I use?
Ideally, keyboard only. Up to 4 musicians, unless it's actor/musicians.
What do you consider a small cast?
A cast of 2–10 actors.
Do all of the characters need to be in their 20s or 30s?
No; however, we strongly encourage a majority of characters to be in that age range.
What are "simple" technical needs?
Minimal set, costumes, props, etc. Do you have a creative way to make a complex show clear and simple? We'd love to hear about it in your proposal.
What if I have more than one show to propose?
Great! Please fill out one form for each show idea.
What's the timeline?
You will then receive an email informing you whether or not we'd like to move forward with your proposal for a second review. We will interview the finalists before making a final decision.
The actual production will take place sometime between Janurary-March.
Who is reviewing these proposals?
First Review: Executive Team
Second Review: All Brown Paper Box Co. Members
