Brown Paper Box Co. was founded in 2010 by four Chicago-based theatre artists whose love of engaging, innovative - yet simple - theatre inspired us to start our own company.
Based in Chicago, Brown Paper Box Co. produces theatre that connects audiences to the heart of the story and to our shared human experience. By combining smart, simple design with clear storytelling, we make traditional pieces relevant and new work accessible.
We are guided by our mission and commitments.
We set clear expectations of ourselves and our collaborators using honest, open communication and follow through on our commitments. We own up to our mistakes and treat them as an opportunities for improvement. We create an inclusive space for everyone regardless of race, class, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or (dis)ability.
We produce high quality shows while remaining fiscally responsible.
